The new Roberts Road Outpost Facility is a complete replacement of the existing maintenance facility owned and operated by City of Columbus at the existing Roberts Road location. The updated new facility shall include a 4,000 SF administration office building, a 24,000 SF vehicle storage and maintenance garage, an 8,000 SF salt storage building, and a 3,600 SF material storage building.
The project also includes a 2,200 SF specialty equipment storage building housing brine making / blending equipment, brine containment, and a vehicle wash facility, as well as a new above-ground fuel-storage and dispensing station with canopy structure.
The building design employs the use of multiple construction types including conventional construction for the administration building, pre-engineered metal building system for the vehicle storage and maintenance garage, and tension fabric structures for the salt and material storage buildings. The site was reworked for a new detention basin for storm water collection and a second vehicle entrance to improve vehicle circulation.
