The Sherman Cabins project was one of three (3) task order projects from the ODNR Statewide Technical Services Contract. This cabin development project consisted of 24 new-build cabins in two different design of roughly 240 sq. ft. and 150 sq. ft. each, to be placed in 9 different state parks throughout the state of Ohio.
Abbot Studios’ Team worked closely with ODNR and Park Managers to design the project to meet the needs of the various parks, worked with the Department of Forestry to get the wood log framing, worked with the Department of Engineering to keep the project within budget and help with product purchasing, and worked with the Ohio Penal Industries to assemble and ship the cabins to site for installation. Abbot Studios’ Team was instrumental in organizing the multiple agencies to create a successful project. Additionally, Abbot Studios also worked with the Department of Commerce to get an Industrialized Unit permit for OPI as well as create shop drawings for cabin assembly for OPI staff to use during construction.
