Project Description

Phase I – Consists of a new 7,200 sq. ft. single-story high bay youth activities building addition for the existing church facility.  Also, a new 1,600 sq. ft. lobby and hallway was created to provide an entrance to the new building and a glass enclosed circulation path that connects to the existing narthex area on the east side.  The main facility is a large open multi-function space for recreation activities such as basketball, volleyball, roller blading, etc.  A raised platform on one end will serve to accommodate concerts, plays and other performances.  Special lighting and sound systems have also been incorporated. The Phase I building is constructed of a pre-engineered metal frame system with a brick veneer exterior over interior CMU walls to 12’ high with metal studs and GWB above to roof deck.  A CMU foundation, slab-on-grade floor and standing seam metal roof system is utilized.

Phase II – Consists of a new 22,400 Sq. Ft. 2-story educational building addition. This building is connected to the west end of the existing 2-story educational building via 1,500 SF. & 978 SF. lobby/circulation spaces on the first & second levels respectively. A new 2,500 seat worship center will connect to one end of this building in the future. The main (upper) level of the new facility acts as an extension of the preschool areas of the existing building.  Likewise, the lower lever functions as an extension of the existing educational building for adult and older children functions.  Large classrooms, toilet rooms, resource room, kitchenette, etc. are included on each floor. The building is constructed of a pre-engineered metal frame structure with poured concrete foundation walls below grade and a metal stud-backed brick veneer system above grade.  Extensive foundation and slab design considerations have been made due to high ground water conditions.  The roof is shingled, over plywood decking on the metal building structural system.
