Bollinger Tower is an 11 story residential building in the Short North of Columbus, Ohio, managed by Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority. The building underwent a complete exterior rehabilitation. Abbot Studios was contracted to provide design & construction documents services to upgrade the existing site, exterior building envelope and interior upgrades in the first floor common area.
The Site Improvements included extensive landscape upgrades to the front & rear entrance plazas, a new fenced patio enclosure, repairs to the sidewalks, curbs, and new parking area. Exterior Building Improvements included restoration of the existing building façade with new face brick and EIFS veneers, new metal doors and door frames, surrounding flashings, sun screen louvers, front and rear entrance canopies, first floor storefront entrances, replacement of existing windows and exterior building lighting.
Interior Building Improvements include the complete redesign of the existing first floor offices and common areas. Improvements made to the Men’s and Women’s restrooms to be ADA compliant. The electrical and HVAC systems repair or replaced. Each apartment unit received some minor repairs due to the exterior building improvements.
