DETROIT LIONS ABBOT STUDIOS and Levy Retail in collaboration with Chute Gerdeman delivered this groundbreaking new Detroit Lions Team Store within Detroit’s Ford Field.
ABBOT STUDIOS performed a comprehensive survey / field investigation of the existing building to evaluate the building conditions as they relate to the project’s scope, branded elements and alignment with the project’s budget. The project included adding wall openings into public corridors to create an open and inviting store experience to entice large volumes of shoppers into the space. ABBOT STUDIOS re-evaluated the stadium’s existing HVAC and plumbing systems within the space in order to maximize the heights of the new angled linear lighting to create motion and lead customers through the space. ABBOT STUDIOS also provided for the installation of lightboxes to create exciting visuals of current Lions players. New VIROC concrete wall board materials with continuous blue LED accent lighting were designed to create a strong and iconic brand presence within the space and to create visual interest from within the stadium’s concourse and main entry gate.
